This is a video of the Ritual Etude#1 floor installation in gallery 1434 at University of California, Santa Barbara in April 2006. When people walk from one wooden step to another, the time between their steps sets the time between the beats in a rhythm. When multiple people walk in the circle, multiple rhythms are activated in layers.
